Scenic farms grace nearly every view in Perry County, from the rolling hills near Centerville to the broad fields around Blain, highlighting a vibrant and diverse agricultural sector.
According to the 2022 USDA Census of Agriculture, Perry County encompasses over 116,000 acres of farmland across 661 active farms, many of those farms working more than 500 acres. The average value of land and buildings per farm exceeds $1.5 million, while county farms collectively generate agricultural products with a market value surpassing $275 million annually, nearly a quarter of Perry County’s total GDP.
