New Buffalo

A ligned parallel to the scenic Susquehanna River and Route 11/15, just north of the intersection with Route 22/322, the tiny borough of New Buffalo is home to approximately 125 residents.

Settled in 1823 and named for the bison that once crossed the river nearby, the town features some stunning historic architecture, in a variety of styles.  A stunning new life-size bison sculpture, part of Perry County’s growing public art constellation, celebrates the town’s heritage and is crafted entirely from vintage tools, household items and farming implements.

The original town features a classic grid of small blocks. Outside the town there are several housing developments with very attractive situations and views of the river and surrounding countryside.

The active New Buffalo Fire Company continues to serve as a vital community hub,
supporting local events and emergency needs.
